LORRAINE BARBER 1923 - 2007

Lorraine Barber, 84, was promoted to heaven on July 8, 2007 from her home in
Red Bluff.
Lorraine was born May 6, 1923 in Muscatine, Iowa, the oldest child of Bartus
and Esther Busch.
She graduated from Muscatine High School, Northwestern Bible College, and
attended Northwestern Seminary.
She became the bride of Alvin B. Barber, Jr. on Feb. 23, 1958 in Phoenix,
Arizona. She and Al lived in Arizona, Oregon and Washington before moving to
Red Bluff in June, 1973.
Lorraine accepted the Lord as a child and was a member of Sunrise Bible
Fellowship. Her favorite activities included gardening, canning, and
homemaking.
She was the church librarian and read nearly every book that was in the
church library. She enjoyed leading Bible studies and teaching and
encouraging younger women to follow her example to be godly women.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Al of 49 years (592 months), daughter
Ruth Ann Rowen and her husband Clifford of El Camino, son Ben Barber and his
wife Sharon of Mt. Hermon, and foster son Buddy Van Ryn and his wife Jane of
Portland, Oregon. Grandchildren: Elizabeth, Laura, Mary and Sarah Rowen of
El Camino, Jim and Miriam Barber of Mt. Hermon, Katie Anderson and husband
Cam of Hermiston, Oregon and Tom Van Ryn and wife Wendy of Las Vegas,
Nevada. Great Grandchildren: Gregory, Grant and Claire Anderson of
Hermiston, Oregon, and Isaac and Josiah Van Ryn of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lorraine has one surviving sibling, Richard and wife Ruth of Muscatine,
Iowa. She was predeceased by her parents and brother William.
A memorial service and potluck will be held at Sunrise Bible Fellowship on
Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be sent to Sunrise Bible Fellowship.
